Merlin’s Battery Management Controllers can be likened to an in-vehicle engine management computer. Instead of controlling fuel flow and RPMs, Merlin’s controllers manage every function in your primary electrical system.
Functions such as remote battery switching, charge prioritization, intelligent split charging, flat battery protection, alarms, and automation of load shedding (non-essential loads) and generator stop/start are all controlled through the Merlin Battery Management system.
How does management control differ from battery monitoring? Put simply, Merlin’s Battery Monitors detect weaknesses, power discharge, and overloads in the electrical system. Merlin’s Battery Management Controllers use the data to correct these problems automatically – before your batteries fail.

Configuration Management
Each Management Controller is highly configurable. All parameters can be customized, including
expandable inputs and outputs. You can work with our application engineers to design systems that
precisely meet your power management needs.
Our management systems deliver extremely accurate readings of your battery bank’s State of Health
(SoH) and State of Charge (SoC). Protecting primary and back-up batteries from overload and overuse,
Merlin Battery Management Controllers automatically direct power where it is needed most.

MerlinNET
MerlinNET is a proprietary high-speed, databus that allows enabled devices to share data.
With MerlinNET, you can easily expand your system, both monitoring and managing your batteries at multiple stations on board.
For example, on boats, battery control and monitoring may be required at the helm, in the engine compartment, and in the saloon. In vehicles, you may require full monitoring and control on the dashboard, but only indicators and audible alarms at the rear. MerlinNET makes configuration flexible.
MerlinNET is also a full duplex, deterministic network with automatic device addressing and configuration. You can simply plug in new or replacement modules. Because no programming or configuration is necessary, MerlinNET makes in-field replacement and support easy. MerlinNET-enabled devices currently include: PowerBank, PowerBank COMBI, Expansion Module, PowerBank Remote Panel, and DataCell.
